Our Mission

Fiscally responsible leadership for a safe, welcoming Bernards Township

The Bernards Township Republican Municipal Committee works to select and elect fiscally responsible leaders who focus on keeping our community a safe and welcoming place to live.

What we stand for

We remain dedicated to preserving the high quality of life enjoyed by all residents, safeguarding our township's natural beauty and resources, and championing equal and inclusive opportunities for every resident. We are all threads in the fabric of Bernards.

01

Fiscally responsible leadership

We identify, endorse, and support Republican candidates for local office who spend taxpayer dollars carefully, keep our budget balanced, and are accountable to the neighbors who elect them.

02

A safe and welcoming community

Well-funded police, fire, and emergency services, well-kept roads and parks, and schools families are proud of. Bernards Township should stay a place people choose to raise their families.

03

Preserving what makes Bernards special

Our tree-lined streets, historic downtown, open space, and natural resources are worth protecting. We favor responsible growth that keeps the character of the township intact.

04

Opportunity for every resident

We champion equal and inclusive opportunities for everyone who calls Bernards Township home, and we listen to every district, every year, not just in election season.

What we do for the community

What we do for the community

The committee is made up of volunteers who live here. Beyond elections, we show up for the township all year round.

  • Community eventsMeetings open to residents, an annual dinner, holiday gatherings, and family-friendly events that bring neighbors together.
  • Volunteer daysPark cleanups, food drives, and hands-on projects that leave the township a little better than we found it.
  • Keeping neighbors informedPlain-language updates on what is happening at town hall, on the ballot, and in Somerset County.
  • Supporting local candidatesCanvassing, phone banks, and campaign support for the Republican candidates we endorse for township and county office.

How the committee works

Bernards Township is divided into 24 voting districts. Each district elects two representatives to the committee for four-year terms. Together they identify, endorse, and support Republican candidates for local office, and represent their neighbors' priorities at every meeting.
